  • Well then tell me, what's the point of playing a guitar, in your mind? If it's because you like the guitar, then you could probably assume that it's because Bassists like the Bass. I'm guessing you don't understand why they're playing melodic licks in a higher register instead of a standard root note groove. The Bass can be just as expressive as any other instrument. No limits in music.

  • when Felix talks he sounds exactly like Jaco

  • @RobRy813 Well, thx for the info... I know, but, many people can hear a low A notes clearly, including me, but below low A, I don't know, because I have heard some songs played in low g#, but, the bass is covered with heavily distorted guitars

  • @metalballs2010 8 string guitars are possible because the strings are much much smaller gauge- they vibrate faster, and the pitch is higher than even the higher strings on a bass. To make a string actually sound at that pitch in bass range, the neck would have to be longer than an upright bass, maybe longer. Also, once you start going lower than a low open B, the human ear stops being able to recognize the pitch clearly.

  • @RobRy813 Then, if it's too low, why do people made 8-string guitars? And add a strings on the bass side instead of adding it on the treble side, like the way they do it on a 6-string basses?

  • @RobRy813 Hehehe, actually my lowest preffered tuning is drop A, but, I do it on a 4 string, since I won't be needing the thinner strings

  • @metalballs2010 Too low- it's impractical, unless you're playing to a herd of elephants.

  • anyway higher register in bass sound diferent than from a guitar

  • @brooklynstudio If I own a 5 string, I would rather tune it to F#BEAD, to accommodate 8 string guitars

  • Felix may be a better improvising soloist than his dad...really nice playing.

  • This must have been filmed during no shave November, look at the stash on Felix! haha

  • is felix tuned EADGC here? He's hittin some damn high notes
