Behunin Canyon - Zion National Park. Rated a 3B III. Longest Rappel - 165 feet (50M). A total of 9 rappels totaling over 1000 feet. Backcountry Permit required. Took us about 9 hours to complete. Started at the Angels Landing trail and end at the middle pools of Emerald Pools. A lot of fun.

  • Do you need a back country permit to go out into the wilderness now?

  • @mannhorn34 On this specific trip, yes.

  • @Cr0cket20 I was wondering how do you acquire a back country permit? and do you need one for all locations all over the country?

  • @UnReaL441 It's not as difficult as it sounds. Basically your group just has to check in with the Ranger station to make them aware that you and group are going. The Ranger station gives you a card and you place it in your vehicle. That way if you don't return they know where you are and you may be in trouble. Some areas they only allow so many groups up in a certain day. No, you don't need one for all locations over the country. Just certain places and it kinda differs from place to place.

  • If you ever get a chance, try Zion. It is a beautiful area. My opinion is spring is the best time of year to visit. I've seen the Grand Canyon when I was a kid, but would like to go back and do some hiking.

  • Angels Landing is pretty crazy I went on a different hike there that had like a thousand foot drop with two feet in between the cliff and the drop. It is an awesome place

  • excellent video of a great hike. I've never been to this part of the country yet, but I have hiked the grand canyon in AZ.
