@chrmunoz ...Come back in 50some years and let us know if Beyonce's career has lasted that long! Not hatin' on Beyonce, but I will be impressed when her career spans decades and covers numerous musical genres as Etta's did. BTW: I'm 60something and remember Etta signing "Work With Me Henry" before it was renamed "Wallflower" for the PC crowd. ;-)

Why didn't Beyonce sing one of her songs?
Simple truth: Beyonce might be young, hot, hip, talented, but needed a wonderful classic song to sing that has proved itself over time. I'm not really sure B has one that can compare to "At last".

I think Etta should have had her moment to shine on that very special day, because after all it was her song and being everything they went through during her singing career she should have been giving that moment. Although b brought tears to my eyes. maybe they should have done a calibration.

I am a personal friend of Etta James. She does NOT HATE Beyonce. she likes her. Ettas has been very ill since 2008. Mentally since 2008. shes only gotten worse. she docent even remember me now and ive known her m,y whole life im at her house everyday.

Etta James has dementia. I think what Etta meant was that she doesnt claim Obama as her president. Aretha Franklin sang at the Inaguration so why wouldnt they ask Etta to sing as well. I can see why she would be hurt.
