  • Right!!

Let's get things cleared up on the Cossie.

It's a well know member of the Nottingham RSOC who I know very well and iv been out in the car a couple of times and boy does it handle and go well and the driver is a gd driver, car has now moved on but still lives in Nottingham. The spec at that time would of been roughly as follows:

2wd Sapphire Cosworth in crystal blue.

    350-400bhp mapped by MAD.

Coilovers full poly bush setup, adjustable bottom arms.

Upgraded 4 pot front brakes, bells and r

  • @JamesRScos Thanks for the info! I always thought it must be over 300bhp. I do recall a thread on passionford about the trackday and I'm sure someone posted about the car at the time.

  • that cossy looks and goes like a standard cossy very unlikely its modified.notice the scooby and evo overtaking without much effort.

  • @turbocemal standard "cossyies" don't go that fast, they're slow by today's standard! this pulls away nicely at higher speeds so must be in the region of 300bhp. The EVO and the Subaru were full on trackcars with BIG power.

  • @cw205mi16 300bhp!!? and a 160bhp 205 is on its tail......iiiirrr no offence but i dont think so.yes the cossys is heavier but still 300bhp is enough power to leave a turbo pug in the dust.the pug was obviously ur pride and joy but cant RUNAWAY from facts mate.

  • @turbocemal @cw205mi16 We can obviously argue about it until the cows come home, but a standard sapphire cosworth is not quick - what were they 200bhp?, it's the way it pulls away at high speeds which shows the speed difference and demonstrates the power it has. It would also outrun a mates AUDI S4 until it hit the limiter & ran out of gears - we were both surprised at that. It also never felt slow after driving my 320bhp M Coupe either.

  • both cars look very well driven, cosy rules for me though.

  • As far as I can see the sierra is RWD which means it's 204 hp standard. BTW, the 205 is also modified - there's no 205 mi 16.

    Both cars are great :)

  • @cw205mi16 well in thet case your pug must have more than 160bhp.dont get me wrong but it just doesnt ad up.i have driven my mates cossy which was bog standard after getting out of my e39 m5 with 417bhp the old ford was surprisingly fast

  • iv had both,205gti not as fast but way better to drive!

  • @cw205mi16 That must have been tough seeing that go after all those years. I have a Mk2 Escort, bit less power and a bit more weight than yours (see my vids). I have owned her for 15 years now and it would kill me to sell her. Have you got a suitable replacement for the 205?

  • @petrolhead1977 It's the 1.9 16v engine, around 155-160bhp. I don't have the car anymore though - sold it last year after 12 years of ownership!
