Its been a little over a month since I got my turntables and I have been doing mainly scratching. Here is a video of me practicing, this is not a planned routine so I know it is very sloppy and such. I only did one take also as I plan to continue making these videos so I can see my improvement over time. Tell me what you think and how I can improve. I know i still have a long way to go. I also dont know why the scratching is so much louder then the music, I had it turned down but it must have been the way in which i was recording; I am aware my scratching should not be so loud.

  • this reminds me that i have to find a way to raise my turntable and mixer by a few inches.. good scratching tho.

  • looking forward to the progress as me myself and I have just bougt 2 turntables to scratch and mix

  • whats the instrumental???

  • You need some more practice, then you could be awesome. =) Keep it up!

  • Keep at it man!! If you truly strive to learn, soon enough it will all develop for you...You well know skils dont come over night so be persistent - It's all about training your hands to do these motions/patterns.

Start with the basics, (baby and chirps first) build the necessary foundation, and watch other DJ's scratch, also video all your practice sessions and watch yourself, also placing a mirror in front of your set up will be helpful. Most importantly - Just have fun!

    PEACE! DJ ESC

  • Nice Job!
