(Sacramento) - The Legislative Budget Conference Committee has produced a plan that solves Californias deficit responsibly and still leaves a healthy reserve in place. Assemblymember Jerry Hill (D-Sam Mateo) says the Conference Committee plan is the balanced approach Californians want: Real cuts, limited new revenues and other solutions that help California ward off a cash crisis later this summer. Assemblymember Hill also says Democrats have accepted the Governors realistic budget proposals to solve the deficit but, in standing up for California families, we have rejected his over-the-top proposals for eliminating the safety net in California. Assembly Speaker Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) has announced the Assembly and Senate will vote on the Conference Committee plan next week.
All sounds good and well, but at least two things stick out like a sore thumb...One, you didn't solve the 40+ billion gap, you knew you were using outdated numbers and gimmicks AND relying on the voters - not leadership, second the comment about peoply relying on the state...since when did it become governments job to provide so many services - what happend to people being responsible for themselves...the more double talk our reps do, the double their chances of not being back in Sac...

You dems deliberately created this crisis to extort even more money from the taxpayers. These tactics constitute the most shameless kind of fear mongering in California history.

So, dems, like drunken sailors, spend the state into oblivion and you blame Arnold for bringing you back to reality. You're blaming the messenger for the message, dems.

California already has one of the highest sales taxes and income taxes in the country. Don't blame taxpayers. It's YOUR unforgivable incompetence and mismanagement that's at fault, Sacramento.

Now that we have a Democrat one-party government in Washington D. C. too expect the California disaster on a national level.
This is Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged fulfilled.

Two elephants in the room nobody wants to see are the massive costs of decades of illegal immigration and the sweetheart deals the Democrats have with the public employee unions. This situation is tragic but it was inevitable given the corrupt and irresponsible politicians we have.

Needy AMERICAN CITIZENS would have a better chance if they didn't have to unwillingly share their benefits with illegal aliens.

We essentially have a one party system now. With the dems in control and repubs to small and ineffective to block their dysfunctional and misguided agenda. The chickens are simply coming home to roost.
