Au Sommet du Monde, le Roi a Froid (At the Top of the World, the Cold King) by Maude Baumier-Breton

When a proud mountain goat perched high on a mountaintop gets caught in a terrible blizzard, he gives up his pride and runs from the top of the mountain to find his family and snuggle for warmth and safety.

Note from the Animator:
My second animated short, completed at the Cegep du Vieux Montreal in May 2011 as part of the 3D animation program. Music by Luigi Allemano. Sound Effects by Pride Production.

  • Hmm. Maybe I'm overanalyzing it, but I can see a bit of symbolism in here. The goat on the top of the mountain with the biggest horns is clearly the king. When he falls and takes comfort in the "lesser" goats, it's sort of humanizing authority. Rulers wouldn't be rulers without their people. When they appear back on the mountain with the sun up, it shows that things can be accomplished in numbers. The civilian goats kind of got him back up to where he belongs.

  • @DeliciousPish No your not overanalyzing it, that's exactly what this film is about. : )

  • @modbreton Hi Maude! Thanks for your comment. :) Congrats on over 2,000 views in one day!

  • @DeliciousPish Great observation! Very articulate and right on the nose with the theme, I think.

  • I like the goats, and the story was cute. I want more of the goats.

  • @DeliciousPish

Meh, I thought they were his family supporting him (and each other) after his fall and through tough times. I guess it's possible to interpret in multiple ways.

  • Put a smile on my face, on an otherwise miserable day, so thank-you for that :)

  • Hi, I am Bob and this is snow mountain trip.

  • That's what happened to Ghadafi, only difference is when he fell down everyone peed on him and killed him xp

  • @artemisfowl93 You keep showing me and other people reading these more reasons to admit you are not educated enough. Just because you don't understand an artwork does not mean its not art. Music, portraits, animations, simple drawings, even sculptures or handcrafted artworks are indeed more than art.

Read the most voted comment at the moment, it gives more than a satisfying answer for a simple mind like yours.

  • @Moesdays This person who uploads them makes deals with the artists to upload them to their channel, which in turn helps the artist, so infact this person is helping them.

  • Honestly I have no clue what this was supposed to be but good animation I guess :s
