That movie had some great actors. Paul Newman, George Kennedy, Strother Martin, Dennis Hopper, Wayne Rogers, Harry Dean Stanton, Luke Askew, Clifton James, Ralph Waite, Anthony Zerbe, Joe Don Baker, Richard Davalos , James Gammon, and Luke's mother ; Jo Van Fleet. What a cast!

Damn good movie.It really sucked at the end when he got shot and I knew he was probably going to die. And then when Dragline (George Kennedy) came out and starts hitting the man with no eyes I think I almost cried feeling his sorrow. Luke was an awesome character.

I'm surprised this movie doesn't get more accolades in Hollywood. This is such a terrific movie with such a great screenplay and great actors, etc., etc. I think it's Newman's best and one of the top films ever.
