@DistendedPerinium Well, it was almost a brilliant tactical plan (the unfinished nature was perfect bait). The problem was that the empire didn't realize that little teddy bears with rocks could defeat their armored stormtroopers, who carried modern firearms, and were backed up with giant ass walking tanks.

@SBFloppie Are you arguing semantics? Okay, the Empire brought the battle to the second death star. The whole setup was a trap to annihilate the Rebellion in one swat. The Emperor orchestrated the entire charade from top to bottom. That is besides the point. The Emperor made the mistake of letting the second death star enter battle in a structurally incomplete state. My point is that the Empire lost due to strategic/tactical errors, not due to design flaws.

Just a thought: It would be pretty cool if the First Ones are transcended beings like the people of Kosh who used their ships like Encounter suits. Or in other words or in the other way around, The First Ones' bodies are space ships, similar to the Reapers of Mass Effect. This making the First Ones really the First Ones like they're really bad-ass.

@TheSecondEvolution The second Death Star wasn't so much a design flaw as a tactical error. The Empire took it to battle in a structurally incomplete state and depended on a force field to protect it. Get rid of the force field and poof, big, gaping structural holes to exploit.

The scary thing about the Walkers of Sigma 957 is that all their ships are for exploration and do not have war ships at all. Their "weapon" here is really just an extremely powerful sensor.
