This video was filmed and produced for the Illinois Association for Gifted and Talented Children and SENG, Supporting the Social and Emotional Needs of the Gifted. In my recent research of gifted and talented children, I found that there are many complex issues to consider. The unique stressors effecting these students have enormous implications.

  • @sherryfracheymusic Wrong person..?

  • @ElementalMonster54 Absolutely, Lexie. It's called asynchonistic brain development. That means an imbalance. It can be stressful, which is why we are addressing it in our schools. It is a brain chemistry issue. It is not a "better than" issue. Hugs! (btw....everyone is gifted in certain ways...which is why we have different programs....like athletics for example)

  • @cadanmccann That's makes sense, but why is that a bad thing?

  • I'm gifted at my school

  • I may be a gifted child

    Not sure though...

  • big brains = big egos

  • @ElementalMonster54 :) and thx to u for not criticizing my reply, also for over looking my mistakes; I tend to forget to check. Moreover a lot of psychologist are wrong but because most of them are not educated right about gifted and talented, we can't really be mad at them since we all make mistakes.

  • @LexieDeaves Thank's for the very well thought out response. I'm also pretty sure my psychologist was wrong and she probably did misdiagnose me.

  • @ElementalMonster54 but not only gifted people are smart. Gifted isnt someone who knows everything. You've learned simple things in early life, and you could be gifted and it will never change but at IQ of 115-125 it is less noticeable in adult hood because its not just about learning. People can't lose IQ points, its not true, you can't just become stupid from getting older. If you learn skill you will always know it and you will always be able to learn new skills, even when ur 90 :) Good Luck

  • @ElementalMonster54 In my country we dont have ADD and I've read a lot about it and have to say, still working on figuring out why people made those conclusions. Your psychologist were not educated right about gifted people, 95 is an IQ of a normal person, and I know many people that have GPA of 3.0-4.0 and IQ of 90-110 Also IQ's are not accurate,I did research and found out that some people get IQ test score of 120 when in real life it can range from 90-110 :) You were a smart kid I gotta say,
