Camping in the Weminuche Wilderness in Colorado with the guys. 9 mile hike peaking at about 12,900ft. Sept 11-13 2009.

@bstansbu yeah i just gotta disagree with ya here. i mean don't get me wrong a hand gun is better than nothing, but you wouldn't believe how fast a bear can get into a tent. just some advice, cook away eat away and store everything smelly away at least 100 yards from your base camp. and switch the handgun for a shotty maybe? just bear entry's can happen so fast its ridiculous. anyway best of luck!

also a hand gun will do nothing more than stun it. if you absolutely have to shoot, shoot to kill. it's your life or his. im not trying to be a dick just know that a bear can completely ruin a trip. have fun and be safe! looks like you had a blast!

yep thats smart cook right next to your campsite. ah well you'll learn when a bear creeps into your base.

enough hand guns to not worry! Bears would have loved the pancakes we had in the morning though. @jaigooroo

@bstansbu question do you think a hand gun gives you any sway in the night while he is tearing through your tent and about to be unto you? false. Did you bring a bear bag? did you have anything smelly such as toothpaste shampoo, deoderant? these are all things that attracts bears. i have hiked weminuche and saw a bear during the hike in. because your a begginner, and yes i have the right to say this because your vid shows it. just be careful next time. Beautiful though eh? Weminuche is awesome!

Me and 2 of the other guys each slept with 40 and 45 semi autos. i think they could take down a bear. It was my first time camping like that though. The others had done it before. beautiful up there. We really knocked the trout down. FUN
