  • Heavy metal?

  • @seukfuhi i agree actually. she seems like she can play the guitar parts well but has trouble playing and singing at the same time. which i dont blame her, some of her guitar sketches are kinda complicated. she does sound better on record. but i do think shes very good at what she does.

  • @theriggermortis2400 it bothers me that women in music get constantly dismissed, no matter their skill, get "kitchen" jokes thrown at them all the time, told they're "good... for a girl", get asked to take their tops off, get all manner of cock-sucking jokes made about them, and get generally treated as nothing but eye-candy holding an instrument. The same thing that happens in business, happens in music to them. It's bullshit.

  • @theriggermortis2400

Jealous much?? Lol!! She is being recognised because she's great. Now, go deal with your jealousy...please.

  • Marnie Stern vs. Kaki King

  • "The media make me into this great guitar player which I don't think I am". She's right. She's more interesting for her songs than her chops. Orianthi is a way way better instrumentalist but her songs suck.

  • @theriggermortis2400 And also on the sex appeal thing, If you knew anything about her kind of music and associated bands you wouldn't think that. These are musicians who are about feeling, not sex. I noticed on your page you have snoop dogg, metallica, eddie van halen, and eminem interviews. You obviously don't know shit about music. "Look up Polvo". I love Superchunk and some Merge stuff but none of them are anywhere near as talented as Marnie Stern. Go listen to Hella to learn about real music

  • @theriggermortis2400 Are you kidding me? She got where she is because of hard work. She plays guitar better than 90% of other women guitarist. And she has amazing musicians play in her studio and live bands. If she was using sex appeal to get famous she would be wearing skimpy outfits and singing pop music. Go see her live and see how good she is at controlling a loop pedal, singing, and playing her guitar all at once. Let's see you play 3 things at the same time and still rock.

  • Tapping really bores me. Nothing against her, but the sound of it has become so associated with random guitar wank that I find it unlistenable.

  • @theriggermortis2400 Stop your whining and fucking do something then bro! Gosh. GO FORTH.

  • for example "Ignore them, everyone has to start somewhere, you're awesome (please notice that I'm different from them, my home address and phone number are on my profile. PLEASE make lovelys with me >='(".

So to be honest, I'm bitter that sex appeal counts for so much where talent should be a substitute ideally. Like a lot on here I'm a frustrated, bitter musician =P I have songs just as catchy as hers but it'll take me a LOT longer and more effort for me to achieve success. If ever(unliklely).

  • It bothers me that girls can put less effort in, become successful mostly because of the erm... *ahem* sex buffer that they have. Look on youtube for evidence, there are guys who play amazing music who get criticism, a girl who messes up the rhythm, technique and well, everything will get praise and bullshit "fair" criticism.
