We've been dragged into two of your wars, the later of which was won because we entered it (WW2). If you have to ask why we own guns you'll never understand. Our heritage is a history and tradition of gun ownership, and it means freedom. If the people are stripped of their ability to keep their gov't in check by the gov't, then you are not a citizen you are a subject. What about all the lives saved by guns? Why do all the school shootings happen? Nobody had a gun to defend themselves.

Without the ability to keep your government in check, you are at the mercy of it. History has showed us in many occasions that when a group of people are diarmed, extreme government abuses occur. The reason why it's such a big deal is because gun ownership is our heritage and history, in fact this country wouldn't exist if it wasn't for our Founding Fathers that used their own guns to take down the British. Disarmed people are subjects at the mercy of their government, not citizens.

I must say I feel sorry for you. There are so many people lying to you! Of course I can hardly blame you for believing any of it. It is obvious you have trouble using your own language. So you hold on to your gun! In the end your child might end up shooting some of his or her classmates. When that day comes we in Europe will not be surprised. We have given up on the U.S. a long time ago.

Trying to convince you would be a waste of time. You see the NRA as a bunch of gun nuts, nothing I could say here is going to change that! Registration makes it easy for a tyrannical government to confiscate firearms and to make prey of its subjects.The people have a right to keep arms; therefore, if we should have some Executive who attempted to set himself up as dictator or king, the people can organize themselves together and, with the arms and ammunition they can properly protect themselves
