  • I like this version because all of the actors look like real people as opposed to the waifs of the 2005 version. Additionally, our modern standards of beauty are very different from those of Austen's time - the Jane in this series was lovely by both. On the whole, the 2005 movie is just a different interpretation (one that pays definitively less attention to historical accuracy).

As for Lizzie, I feel that Jennifer Ehle's mischievous smile is much better than Kiera Knightley's constant scowl.

  • No matter how many times I watch this adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, I love it every time. This is the correct portrayal of the characters of that time. The definition of beauty was different than it is today. BBC is much better than any Hollywood make (read remodeling) of the book.

  • @Izybellaz Agree!! :)

  • Oh, My! This is my favourite series. Thank you. :)

  • Colin Firth is fantastic as always, but Matthew McFayden IS Mr Darcy. He encapsulates perfectly the begrudging charm of the character. While this version sticks more to the book, I think the casting in the 2005 version is better. Brenda Blethyn (not sure about the spelling) as mrs Bennet was hilarious, Rosamund Pike made a more beautiful and innocent Jane, and of course Donald Sutherland and Judy Dench were amazing....Only combined, would the vesrions have done justice to the books...

  • The best version of all times

  • Am I the only one who thinks that Jennifer Ehle has the perfect looks to play Anne Boleyn? Her eyes really are beautiful, as Lizzy's are described in the book.
