  • i am defo going to do this with my kids, it makes so much sense!

  • I did this - it worked really really well and my son still eats everything (just about to turn 3). It meant I didn't cook seperately for him and he learnt to eat family foods. It was a great way to make the 18 month transition from fully milk (up to 6 months) to no more mummy milk (after 2).

  • @hathor261 I´m afraid of choking hazard as well. Did you try the method? what´s your experience? My daughter did not want to eat mashed fruit, I gave her a piece of banana and she enjoyed it, at least.

  • @justafriend08 Hello, my 6 months old daughter started eating this monday, the doctor told us to give her mashed fruit but she refuses, cries and have not eaten till I watched these videos. I tried and gave her banana, peach and pear she played with the food and ate a little bit. I think she really enjoyed, and I did of course just by watching her. I have concern Im afraid she can choke herself with a big piece of fruit, what shall i do if that happens? any other advice is welcome

  • Its not just about giving baby whole food instead of mush, its so good for the development of speech when they are using all the muscles in their mouth. they dont really work when its mush.....its not dangerous as long as your there watching, its natural to have mashed not blended food or just whole food...also a baby has a very good gag reflex for a reason

  • This is very interesting. My wife mentioned it to me the other day, and we are interested in trying this out. Any advice for us?

  • We're doing this with our daugher, it's sooo much fun for all of us!

  • @hathor261 I don't think you understand BLW and if you don't understand something you shouldn't say it's wrong and judge it.

BLW is brillant and is now how health visitors and trained in weaning, or introduction to solids as it is now called.

  • @hathor261 heavens! My son, at 6 months old had a head full of teeth and was eating cream of wheat with baby pears, and mashed creamy potatoes with veggies - all mashed of course, not coursely chopped. So what if the toddler didn't eat off the noodles - it is a new feeling and taste.

  • 6mths is too soon for a baby to eat finger foods

  • Are you saying that's too soon or too late? Why are you disagreeing with it?
