Do a google search on house sparrow damage to songbird populations. They are cute but are not a bird you want in your area they will eliminate all the other songbirds in your area if left to breed. I've been birding for 25 years and my songbirds paid the price of my lack of research on them and in a few years I had no other birds left on my 3.5 acres which had chickadees, nuthatches, titmice, wrens,bluebirds, martins, all gone and all dead.
