Dear Sir,I tried this with plastic spool with a LED lamp(rating 2V) and strong magnet of loudspeaker(horn type). I used 1kg of 25gauge wire. But bulb did not burn at all. LED that works with 0.5 volt is not available in Kochi. Can we use ordynary torch bulb? Is an iron rod must for winding? Shd the winding be compact? Shd we apply varnish after winding? Pls help. Urgent.

How can electricity be passed without any current ?
Is it just coiling the copper wire and connecting both ends to the LED ?
The components I have used are 1. Insulated copper wire -40 gauge -500grams 2.Iron nail 3. Light emitting diode (LED) 4.Strong magnet.

When we move the coil keeping the magnet at rest, the same amount of voltage would be induced.what matters is the relative motion.

YES ,connect both the ends to an LED.You need a strong magnet.

Hi,
If I use 10 magnets and 10 coils can that generate 50 volts?
Thanks

Either more magnets or the coils has to be increased.See, I used a coil of 60,ooo turns and a big size magnet(diameter 10cm),I could manually generate 14 volts and current was low(500milli ameres).so 50 volts is too much and difficult. But try.

does it have an iron core? or just wire?
Unguidedone 11 months ago
Yes ,A ferrite rod is used as core.
