Can't tell if you're a troll, presenting a ridiculous worldview in order to be critiqued, or an insane technology zealot. You certainly sound like a religious fanatic. That thing about viewing the earth as a seed to be consumed for 'a true civilization' to be birthed is completely ridiculous.

thanks for posting this up.

The Pit of Despair! ..Don't even think about trying to escape. The chains are far too thick.

@8f13ld1n9 ; Whats wrong with disagreement ?

Is he high ?

@trank31337 No, we won't need air or water after our minds are digitally scanned and we live as electronic simulations that run off of the powerful computer infrastructure we'll develop. Bodies are so primitive, and I hate everything primitive.

@videoguy604 That's an interesting theory, honestly. But what I'm telling you is that you, as a human being, and also I, require 2 things to survive: fresh air, and clean water. INDUSTRY, alllllll ALLLLLLLL Industry, technology, ALLLLLLLL this manmade bullshit, POLLUTES those two things I just described. So you CANNOT have both. Either destroy technology, or DIE. Those are your and my options. This is not a debate, these are facts. Now let's meet up and get a beer because I like you.

@trank31337 The Earth is just a seed that true civilization will sprout out of. When a plant germinates, it consumes and destroys the seed, who cares about the seed. We have a future in the starts as real civilization. I worry about the destruction of Earth as much as you worry about how an oak tree destroys an acorn.

@videoguy604 It isn't that we're "against" technology, it's just that the Industry that creates technology is killing the Earth. And if the Earth dies, so do we! The arrogance of so many men is that they think they can kill the Earth and also survive. They can't. In order for you to pummel me with your technological weaponry, you have to make sure the Earth is healthy and vibrantly alive for you to be able to do so.
Most--if not all--of the disagreements posted here could be avoided if people took the time to actually read Derrick's work. You can't possibly get an accurate overarching perspective on such subversive concepts from such a terse interview. I'm afraid this interview might do Derrick more harm than good. I know him; he's one of the most compassionate and intelligent people I have ever met. Read his work before you jump to conclusions. It's a difficult subject that needs to be addressed.

Did you actually watch the video? Have you actually read his books?
Not wearing a nylon jacket is not the leverage he's looking for, as he states in the video. Boycotting is not good enough leverage. Taking out the dams and stores and buildings yourself is the leverage that actually works.
Take the time to actually listen to what he's saying.
