  • Now that you have the Silver Reed SK280, do you still continue to use your Bond Knitting Machines??? What do you plan on doing with the (3) knitting machines currently under your bed?

  • @HJKelley47

I do still use the Bond occasionally. I was going to sell the machines that are under the bed but I think I'll just hang on to them for now.

  • Hi there. Is this the machine you bought some time ag in 2008? The one that was all yellowed? This one looks in good condition, just wondered if it's the same one, and if so how did you get it looking so good! I left a mint condition 700K in the attic when I moved house 17 years ago. I've now managed to replace eveything via eBay and as well as cleaning the equipment up etc., I've been refreshing my memory with your videos! Thanks!

  • @trulytango

Yes, it's the same machine. I can't remember what I used to clean the plastic, probably just some household cleaner. That machine is now stored under the bed along with the 321 and the 302 as I bought a brand new machine at the beginning of last year. I wonder if I'll ever use them again.

  • @susyranner2009

A brand new machine? Lucky you! What did you get? I hope you continue to upload your videos - there's so much info in them. Such a great set of resources - thanks again!

  • @trulytango

    I got a Silver Reed SK280.

  • @susyranner2009 faster indeed! haha I was slaving over the machine trying to find a better solution since my machine didn't come with punch cards. I had actually already tried this combo through my trial and error sessions. If I hadn't come on here and seen that it had worked for someone else i would have given up. My carriage was set up all goofy. It must have been from the previous owner. I'm soo happy I can knit fair isle now without falling asleep! :D

  • @chickenkarma

Mariams way is much quicker than mine isn't it?

  • @chickenkarma never mind! i took my carriage off the needle bed and looked underneath it, there was a little lever thing that was preventing the needles in D position from being knitted by the second color. It totally works now, Woohoo!!!

  • @susyranner2009 did you try it on the same machine as in the video? I've have the same machine as you and I tried to do it Mariam's way with no success.. I wonder what I'm doing wrong :(
