Shooting the .45 ACP Colt 1911 at 200 yards, target is 18" x 24" steel. I had been on the range for a few hours working on another project with the Colt Series 80 1911. During that process, I connected on this target at 100 yds, so thought I would try to keep the streak going. Just goes to prove that you should ALWAYS have the camera running when you attempt something such as this, it just might happen, and nobody would believe you otherwise.

Regarding long range handguns, I have also hit this target at 200 yards with both the Glock 19 and Glock 22. Long range hits are quite possible, it just requires alot of concentration, steady hand, consistency, and some luck.

This was recorded on the eve of the 100 year anniversary of the adoption of the 1911 .45 ACP by the U.S. Military.

  • Hey man! this is awesome. Nice shot. Have you had any experience with the Walther p99? I'm trying to decide between it and a 1911 as my first handgun. I have plenty of long gun experience, and I've shot enough "big bore" handguns to know what I'm in for.

  • @IIDASHII

Can't say that I've ever shot a Walther in anything.

  • gorgeous gun. if i were to own any handgun, it would be this.

  • I've shot propane tanks and Acetylene cylinders WELL over 100 yards out here in the desert with my 1911. Just on a whim, not that i set out to do so. Not a good shooter or anything, but i was amazed the 45 would reach out that far.

  • ahhhh the trusty 1911 one of americas finest good shot man 200 yards do you know what the bullet range is on the 1911

  • Colt 45... Can't beat em.

  • @IIDASHII The new Walther PPQ is a P99 with an updated grip and striker fired trigger. I love mine. I also have a Colt 1991A1 from the 90's that's chugged down over a thousand rounds and only jammed with a crappy magazine that I have that jams everything on the last round. Either pistol would be a great choice, you really can't go wrong. I know this is a late reply, but good luck and good shooting!

  • The 1911 is insanely accurate, I love it.

  • Awesome shooting man!!
