I purchased one of these devices for my elderly father who live thousands of miles away so he could call me without costing him too much money, as he is on a fixed income. Once he got the hang of it, he really enjoyed the saving....That is until the day it STOPPED WORKING for no reason. He thought he did something wrong. I let him know that he did not. In fact, it seems common for these 'magic jack offs' to die after 30 days, making it impossible to return for a refund. And Customer Service? HA!

SPAM. This devices uses a proprietary firmware and REQUIRES a proprietary operating system such as Windows for (in Beta) OS X. They do not advertise this fact. It will not work with any other operating system. I would never want one of these, since I do not use proprietary operating systems in my home. It is crazy that they do not release a standard ethernet or wifi version, let alone work with standard SIP-compatible devices.

I have the magic jack and I love it but they dont have SCarolina numbers so I got a Florida number since I have family in florida!
