The notes in this video make this the best instructional video that I have seen yet concerning the Kaoss Pro. This should be in the video library of anybody that wants to learn how to play this instrument, not to mention, watching a good musical piece being composed with explanations on how it's being done, is quite amazing.

@bionsen1983 I'll take that as a compliment considering the stuff you chose to upload.

hey, is it possible to not only link the KP3 with the K-PRO, but to also after they are linked use the K-pro as a midi controller for a desktop synth module or a rack synth module such as the ROLAND JP 8080? if so, is there a way (perhaps a mixer) to not only use the K-PRO as just for a midi controller, but also to use the effects and sample banks of the KP3 along with the sounds from the rack synth mod engine to sound the 3 units together without a midi keyboard?
-
Thanks for the demo. I just bought one after your video :D
-
Nice, it did help me a lot.

Thank you for putting in the time for the "notes" you added in each scene. You make this very understandable for a noobie. Keep it up K-Pro Bro.

@mrv8fusion If you only want short loops, it's not called recording, it's called sampling. You can sample loops with it, but you only get four loops max 16 beats at 109bps.
-
@mrv8fusion oh and can it be used as a recording device as opposed to a computer software like fl studio?
-
@RiinTron thx....would you recommend i buy this model or any other?
-
@mrv8fusion It's not a recording device: it's a performance instrument. You can record loops, and you can punch them in and out. You can overdub any of the loops, or multiples of them, and then you can erase one and lay down a new one. The idea is that you can overlap the four loops 2,3,4 at a time, and then modify one at a time, cycling through all of the loops, to perform a constantly changing arrangement. While the loops are playing, you can perform whatever you want live.
-
@glenraath You can see a lot of people doing KP3 on top of Kaossilator Pro. It will give you the ability to lay down 4 more loops, directly, or bounced down from the Kaossilator, and lots of effects. They were meant to be used together, but I'm having enough fun with the Kaossilator Pro by itself, I'm not yet compelled to plunk down for the KP3, but I think it's a matter of time for me.
-
@RiinTron hey i have a question(im new to things like this) but if im correct this thing can only have 4 loops the same length, but if thats true how would you create long songs with parts in them that only plays once, not loop through the entire thing. thx in advance
-
I am just about to part with my hard earned money and would like to know is it also worth getting the KP3 to use with this?
P.S this vid has given me a lot to think about thanks....... :)

@bionsen1983 do you guys smell smoke? like something just got burnt... no? just me?
-
@RiinTron Oh thank god... Thanks for replying.
-
@DeejayErez No. A computer helps save presets, or to record performances, or to sample other music, but it's not necessary. Lots of people use it with just a pair of headphones.
-
Do you need a computer to use this?
-
"how to rock" haha....god damn! this thing sounds like a fuckin gameboy->not cool!
-
great job!
Can an mp3 be add while making a beat?

@lokia11 You can add any live or recorded sound you want to the line-in or microphone in, and it will be mixed into the output.
