  • I agree Asana is not all there is to Yoga, and it is a shame that it is viewed as such, however, I think saying it is the lowest branch is a little bit dismissive of a valuable set of techniques.

  • @anandashambhala Not lowest in judgmental terms, but in the effect on the evolution of consciousness. Asana is merely the physical aspect of Patanjali's Eightfold Path. Pranayama is where one begins to move upward spiritually. The West, in its usual materiality, has only seen the physical aspect and stresses this as the central focus, when its actually very rudimentary in comparison to the higher aspects of Yog. Yogiraj is simply realigning the emphasis to its proper place.

  • If all those other techniques are a source of Yog, then what is the source of Yog?

  • Hatha yoga is attributed to progenitor kriya yoga of Shiv Goraksha, the orginal source of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika (as expounded by Yogiraj). The physical postures are meant to prepare the body and mind for meditation, which eventually, by lifetimes of practice flowers into Samadhi (Yoga/ God Union). This is after the cessation of all desires and mental conditioning.

  • u rock i watch all ur vids come trinidaddddddddddddd and tobago!!!

  • Jai Sat Gurunath!!

  • @ad627 veryyy true

  • @ilabstudios source of Yog is infinite now and your absolute self conciousness, you've invented it .. Yog is source and source is Yog .. Yog was always Yog .. ...there is nothing after or before Yog and there is in the same time but only "temporary" .. "Lila", which is infinite game (dance) between you and You with all its waves and "fazes" is represented with metaphor of Nataraj or even closer with aspect of Shiva called Nimitasta which represent "the shooter, the bow, and the target" ...

  • @ad627 some things are experiential - videos wont suffice. Techniques alone are not everything, the grace of Guru is of paramount importance. The readiness of the disciple is the key. Kriya Yoga and Bhakti (devotion) are the two wings of the Hamsa Swan... Bhakti can not be given in a video, can it? For Bhakti, the disciple has to be ready to allow the Guru to take control with full faith in the Guru.

  • I am so glad to hear Yogiraj speak about this. Yoga simply means physical excercise to most people in the west. While hatha yoga may contribute to physical health, I always believed it to be a tool used to gain mastery over the body in order to discipline, calm it & subdue it's lustful nature. But the true yoga is the combination of all the other yogas, jnana, raja, bhakti, karma, kriya, etc., along with hatha yoga as a tool. So I am happy to hear this problem of misunderstanding addressed.

  • Thank you for posting. could u tell me the name of the singer and the song at the beginning of the video.

  • American people is so lucky to have such a master in his space. Thanks, thanks thanks!
