  • Of course it really is just more fun kicking heavy pads and bags! Hahaha

  • I agree. In fact, given the choice, I would prefer to kick a heavy bag, but I do not have that available very often, so I have to condition in other ways. Thanks for your comment.

  • nice glasses

  • They are "different" that's for sure. I've got to admit that these are the toughest glasses that I've ever worn. They've been kicked, and back fisted off of my face and flung across the dojo floor more than once without a scratch or a dent on them. I'm going to be hard pressed to replace them.. sigh

  • This is also very bad for the shin, because it cause unnessary nerve damage. The best thing to do is to simpily kicking Thai Pads and/or the heavy Muay Thai bag.

  • It is a good thing that you are proud of your choice of Martial art, and that you appreciate what you have been taught. Be aware that there is more than one way to cross a bridge, and each way provides a different result. I, too, am proud of my chosen Art, and what I have been taught. I do not own Thai pads, I own other items that I have used to my benefit. I wish you well on your journey.

  • I'd say do these conditioning stuff 2 or 3 times a week. Your shins and the surrounding bone and tissue need time to recover and get stronger. Overdoing anything is never a good thing. It takes a few months to really develop good core shin sturdiness. Give it time.

Because I train in Kyokushin Karate which is a Full Contact Martial Art. I use my shins to attack, and to block.
