I've been thinking about doing a costume like this for Halloween this year; I'm a big Maya Deren fan, and it's just a cool costume in general. Do you have any tips on how to make it? Like, what kind of mirror did you use, and how did you get it to stay on your head?
Thanks.

@MacWiggy I found one of those hand held mirrors and took it out of the plastic framing. Then I applied duct tape to the back and along the edges of the duct tape, sewed that into a hood I made. To see, I scratched away the back of the mirror where my eyes would be looking. It was extremely difficult to see out of and the glass fogged up from my breath. If you have access to a double sided mirror, I suggest using one. I wanted one but didn't have the resources.

Thank you. :) I also didn't know anything about Maya Daren until I read your comment and I looked up some information on her. I'll definitely be checking out her films.

Oh! I just watched the beginning of the film "Meshes of the Afternoon." I see what you mean now. It's interesting that the film examines the internal experiences of the subconscious forming interpretations of the world around a person--I made a painting that essentially represented that. Maybe Maya Deren is sending me messages. :)
