@DisposableHeros423 That was before Metallica was popular. The only bass players that were a big part of Metallica were Cliff Burton,Jason Newsted,and Rob Trujillio.

@DisposableHeros423 No disrespect to Lars, but he is 100% wrong :]. That doesn't make you a band member. Ron Mcgovney... He was the original bassist. He WAS a part of Metallica (he just didn't fit in). As for Lloyd? He was just a hired artist for a demo. I think Lars meant to say "jam buddy". Call Lloyd a member is like saying each individual orchestra for S&M are all members of Metallica. Yes they have history with them, but they are not Metallica. I don't think your grasping the idea... at all

@daberko120ch Lloyd Grant and Ron Mcgovney were considered official members even though they were in the band for a short time. If you watched the 30Th anniversary they talked about them being members and back in 06 when the band and a few old members were together Lars even said they were members when they were talking about the old days. So yes they were considered official members.

@DisposableHeros423 That's doesn't make him a member of metallica. He was simply a hired artist for the metal massacre demo. They didn't have a bassist so they hired him, he was never accually a member, just a temporary fill-in. Fill-ins are in no way, shape, or form, a band member.
