In a recent interview Fox News president Roger Ailes said he hired former Republican Vice Presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin because she was "hot" and she "got ratings". The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

See, here's the thing, tho... There's research linking attractiveness to intelligence. You have to allow for the possibility that these women know *exactly* how crap everything that comes out of their mouths is.

Although all that would prove is that Roger Ailes pays better than the local strip club.

that's politics nowadays, many people in Uk did not vote for labour cos Brown is ugly, not because he was a buffoon, but because he was ugly. it is why the media age will eventually result in the fall of democracy.

fox news is number 1 because for some reason nearly all republican supporters love it wheras liberals in USA are split between the others maybe because fox news basicly says "we are the only news station for the conservatives and the rest are just liberal propaganda to turn you into communists BEWARE" and the average person suggestible when you use "hot" women and buzzwords, to most of us considerably above average we see it as a joke.

Everybody hires people (not only women) because they're hot. 90% of the population is ugly, however, ugly people only get jobs on TV in comedy shows or things like that.

TYT might have attractive people but i doubt they were hired specifically for their looks! most news channels / talk shows have good looking people, because it's tv, but the difference is that fox news prioritizes sex appeal and shouting over a pundit's character, intelligence and abilities.
