I agree! It's sad that so many blame the economic collapse on Union workers. There's a popular rhetoric that union workers wouldn't take pay cuts and therefore caused all of this. People point out the economic pitfalls in Detroit and Cleveland as being due to the unions in those cities. There is discrimination against ex UAW/Union workers so many of them have an even harder time finding work. People don't realize how lost we are without unions.
our founding fathers knew the perils of an overly powerful central govt, that's why the constitution enumerated all the powers of the fed, but we went astray and the power of the fed kept increasing. the federal reserve prints the money, the politicians spend it - and the politicians are working for the wealthy, the multinational corps, bankers, etc, not us. if the federal reserve didn't exist, the govt couldn't spend us into oblivion.
some tea baggers are misguilded, but many are focused on one chief issue - stop the insane govt spending. we might already be past the point of no return, but the only chance we have is if we stop spending trillions policing the world, ending worthless bureaucracies (dept of education, irs, dept of homeland sec, etc). also our trade policies must change - gatt nafta wto cafta etc are to blame for the destruction of american industry. american workers can't compete with third worlders
