This is my 2 cycle 1200 watt generator, I bought it about a year ago before hurricane season. During hurricane Ike we were without power for 8 days and I ran this generator 8 days powering our refrigerator, a small fan, and a small TV. I ran it about 16-18 hrs a day. It would run about 8 hrs on 1 gallon of gas.

I bought one of thee a few years ago. Took me a bit of fiddling around with the carb and replace OEM spark plug to get it to run. It not a very well built unit and lasted about 48 hrs of operation before it quit generating electricity. Tried calling and ETQ for some help but they don't answer the phone and no answer to my e mail. Maybe their generator doesn't work either.

I can't worry about it; It's a piece of Chinese junk bought for $100

I got what I paid for. Pay a little more & buy USA

  • @microsciences1 I have at least 70-100 hrs on mine. I ran it for over 10hrs a day for over a week while our power was out after a hurricane. After replacing the spark plug, I have had no other problems. I did remove the muffler because the instructions say to clean the screen. I took it apart but there was no screen and one of the mufler nuts stripped. I made a new gasket and retapped the nut in the muffler and it is fine now.

  • whats the difference between this and the chicago generator?

  • @sbeer6er They look the same but I think the chicago electric is only rated at 1000 watts.

  • @sbeer6er Nothing.

  • I have that exact generator and I get it to start fine but I have never got it to put out electricity. I have not clue what to do. I've had it for 3 years and never got it to put out.

  • @mjmcomputers Ooops. You're right. I'm confusing volts with wattage.

  • @NBAGOATS The throttle is auto regulated, too much voltage could harm the generator and whatever you are pluging into it.
