Kemp's ridley sea turtles are the most endangered and the smallest of all the sea turtle species, which makes them particularly vulnerable to severe changes in water temperature. It is not uncommon for sea turtles to be found during late fall and early winter that have suffered from cold-stunning -- the sea turtle equivalent of hypothermia. These turtles have been cared for by the National Aquarium's Marine Animal Rescue Program (MARP) for the past six months, and MARP is preparing to release them back to the wild.
