I got this documentary at the library and watched it twice. I couldn't relate to the lady who watched foreign films without subtitles that she couldn't understand. Films are a form of escape just like alcohol & drugs, but basically they are all a waste of time because you could be doing something more productive. I think that the 5 people in Cinemania have a type hoarding problem that doesn't involve the material ownership of movies, but instead they collect the memories of these films.
I can't believe that this guy has allowed himself to degrade this far. I love movies too but not enough to sacrifice my basic decency nor humanity. So what if you miss a few minutes of the movie? Couldn't the guy just go see it again. He probably will anyway. And if it's a movie that's already on DVD, why not just go and rent the movie and enjoy it at home. He definitely wouldn't have to worry about people "ruining" his experience that way.
