Continued. What we have today is a situation with certain groups, particularly Fundamentalists, who sometimes exhibit a very unchristian attitude that anyone who does not agree with their "take" on the Bible is not a Christian. If they think that Thomas Jefferson did not agree with them, then he was not a Christian. But it wasn't nearly so much like that at the time. There was a lot of healthy debate, not "You're going to hell if you don't agree with our view." Continued.

Continued. The only conclusion I can reach from Jefferson's actions and words, is, he was a true seeker and in action and word was a lot more "Christian" than his present-day detractors. People like you want to make the debate about what is the definition of Christianity (doctrinally) and you just see how far that will get you in restoring this country. Because your vision of what it was is not what it was.

It was Andrew Jackson that said on his death bed "I killed the bank", not Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson did say on central banks, however "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a moneyed aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs."

PDG (who is old enough to know that one?). Few points - Jefferson was not a mason as he possessed their greatest fear - he was quite honest. Franklin well, he would join anything as America's first schmoozer. The Fathers were hermetic/deist as was pointed out quit well and committal toward jesus christ is foolish and blaspheme. They believed in the Christ conscience which is quite, refreshingly different. And; it was, is, and will always be religion as the greatest submission tool invented.

Agreed. Some of the states' constitutions and even many of the laws of states continue to reflect that commitment. No problem there, but I am glad that, for instance, religion is kept separate from the state at the federal level. Religious freedom in government is the way to go in my opinion. Much better than religious rule, I'm sure you'll agree.

The revolutionists and the lower level leaders were not of one mind. The states' constitutions and the colonial charters were/are decidedly committal toward Jesus Christ, God, and the Bible.

Everybody is a racist, except for somebody who has no race. A hybrid has no race. Somebody is raceless is not to convince others to be raceless also.

I appreciate this documentary for enlightening those who say "America was founded on Christian values". Liberty and justice for all, separation of church and state, and checks and balances on government, are not really Christian ideas - but I say they are Good ideas. Christian values are good, but they are not the only good values in my opinion. And I applaud the founding fathers for trying to set America on the path of reason and logic, rather than the religious fundamentalism of the past.

You're not on the same level as us. Your teachers taught you badly when they taught you to participate in discussions.
