Typhoon ONDOY: Korean called FILIPINOS "MONKEYS" in a Twitter Blog

Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me. Thats what I kept telling myself over and over until I realized words really do stung badly. I received a text message from a friend. It says that a Korean twitter blogger said:

Have you heard the news? The monkey island Philippines is flooded. I hope the rain will never stop to drown those monkeys.

They will die because monkeys cant swim

I wanted to know if it is true, so I searched it and found out that it is already all over the net! It says that UglyYubin was the one who started the tweets. It was a fake account of a Korean celebrity. And I think the one I posted up there is not the exact sentence construction since the original was written in bad English (wrong grammar). The good news is the account got suspended already.

If you are one of those who received such message, post your comment and links that will lead to the evidence that will prove this conversation does exist. If you are one of those who thinks that this is just a mere story from the graveyard and a fabricated lie, leave your defending words in human tongue!

We have feelings that monkey can't feel and simply understands such simple personification meant, and we do not deserve to be called as character from a fable!

My opinion? Ill say that not all Koreans are like that, because I know some would want me to believe so and because its not my nature to generalize. But really I got hurt. Many homes got damaged, many lives lost, loved ones, and you can never bring them back no matter how much you try. Many dont even know where to start. Filipinos dont deserve such words. What kind of bumpkin would have the courage to wish such a thing?!
