i am very bad in english sorry but i have a 20 MUni and i am still happy with it i think if the wheel is bigger than 24 i feeling the underground not very well and this is - i think- very important when you want ride downhill or cross country ... but when the wheel is bigger than 24 you are much faster than if it is smaller...
but i think very important for mountain bike unicycling is a massive (?) wheel 2.75 is good

many of us don't have a grand to drop on one of these though. I wish I had one. I don't get it though.... do you need a completely new wheel and put in your own spokes too?

Nice Video! I'm a mountain biker that has a street unicycle. I'm 6'1" and want to get a kris holm mountain unicycle. I'm more of a cross country rider but would like to do a few down hills as well. I don't know whether to pick the 24, 26, or 29 inch unicycle. Any recommendations? At first I was leaning toward the 29er because of the speed but I'm not sure how well it will handle in a downhill situation. I was thinking of getting a 26er and putting a schlumph geared hub on it for when I do XC.

@AdamMoto thanks!
Many unicyclists end up with several wheels, and there are guys using 24, 26, 29 and 36 off road and having lots of fun - tricky to recommend one over another as it comes down to things like how you like to ride, where you ride etc. Generally though, high gear - which is what you gain/pay for with a geared hub - is a lot more usable off road on the smaller wheels than larger wheels.

hmm not really. A geared hub is expensive compared to single speed unicycles, but a lot less than a good MTB. Last time I bought an MTB was the early 1990's...
