My Mesa Boogie Roadster on chan 4-- which I have set up specifically for the Les Paul-- Spongy power setting (not bold), 100w, silicon diodes, and modern. My heaviest channel. Original tubes from Boogie, I have a Furman PL Plus II power conditioner, a Korg DTR1000 tuner, the Roadster head into a rectifier 4x12 cab with V30s, and through the FX loop is a Rocktron Hush Super C rack, and a Korg AX3000g for just a bit of delay for the demo.

I have settings if you want them, but I find that settings for me will sound different for you because we play differently!

Recorded using a Canon Powershot, so not professional audio. Hope you enjoy.

  • You ever try boosting your rhythms/leads (distorted tones)

  • @snapascrew yep.. use a schwalls modified tube screamer in front of the amp on the lead tones. works great and colors the sound nicely.

  • one of the better vids for this amp. I have one too and I love it.

  • There is absolutely nothing wrong with mixing British with American guitar gear. Hell, orange cabs used Eminence speakers for years and what do you think comes in a Boogie cabinet? Celestion speakers. I love the orange cabs for the added bass the 13 ply birch gives you and I love straight cabs...just hate cleaning the amp marks from the tolex. They are SO hard to keep clean...

  • I just purchased the roadster combo and I am having trouble dialing in the tone. Your tone sounds amazing. Can you please send me your settings for channel 4?

  • @gloconti I put a small towel on top of my 4x12 cab so the Mesa head won't leave marks on the tolex. Try it.

  • we have the same set-up except I usually run Channel 3 with a boost on modern/bold for all my rhythm tones. :)

  • Total newbie here.. is there a difference between channels 3 & 4?

  • hey man where can i get a replacment of the footswitch for the amp... i know i can call mesa but i wonder if there would be another place.

  • i think i want an engl over mesa hmm

  • you are getting a very nice Steve Lukather kinda tone there...very smooth

  • not to be rude but when you say rocktron hush super c... kinda reminds me of if kemit the frog said it.. lol :)
