She should have received 7-8 seconds because that's how long she had.

Fee plugs and credits wow what a concept

I guess the reason they gave her a new subject instead of the money right away is because she didn't say the subject before it got buzzed.

checked my thesaurus, grilled and barbecued ARE synonymus
-
There was one subject that the contestant used every possible synonym (sorry, I don't remember the actual subject detail) and EVERYONE was pulling their knowing they should have given the OK. After the c-break they came back with another category and gave the contestant ~ 20 seconds since that was the time they had wasted on the old one.

@nextbarker I believe this particular ep did air on GSN(credits crunched--ARRGH!). 4 seconds wasn't enough time.
-
Yeah, with just :04 on the clock, there wasn't much chance that the player would have gotten the subject.

Dick Clark said on many episodes that the judge DID have a list of illegal clues. Problem is that you can't hope to list every possible illegal clue someone might say. A quick decision was sometimes required. And sometimes, the decision was wrong.
-
That's why I hate hate GSN and several others networks do with the closing credits and go directly to the next show w/o a brief commericial between shows.
-
i think the 4 seconds they gave her was right... Joanne said barbeque at about 22... they buzzed her at 18... so i think the 4 seconds was fair
-
@Disneydanny, I don't think it would be possible to have a list of legal clues. They'd have to have a set of papers a thick as a dictionary to cover all the legal clues. Perhaps it would be better to have a list of illegal keywords next to them.
-
@Disneydanny They usually did have a list of several words which they would immediately buzz if used.
This made it to GSN, right?

Was there a subject back a few weeks earlier during the shows run where Stuart Panikn use the same words for the same category and they took a $10,000 win away

I think so. I'm not sure though.
