@dartoolee The Green Guys in Taiwan are like the Green Party here in the US.
Nothing more than another party to dilute a simple majority. Vote takers that can ruin a 2 party system with a simple majority. If you understand democracy it about knowledge not emotions. This is my prediction. The KMT will return to China keeping Taiwan, and the CCP will be the new CDP (Chinese Democratic Party) or CSDP (Chinese Social Democratic Party). The DPP death kneel is it stance on independence.

At least some people who think the way I do. This president we've voted for (not that I have, but the majority) is just one big desaster, worse than this Taifun, even. If we do not bring him down immediately, there will be consequences for all of us taiwanese to swallow! Reunited with China, extreme slope in our economy, all democracy and freedom GONE.
Down with the President! He can go to America, along with his whole family. There he at least won't do us harm.

I really hope that one day Taiwan is fully free and recognized as an independent country, but from what I've heard from Mainland Chinese and propaganda... there's no way the CCP will let Taiwan be free. The CCP itself has to collapse before this ever happens. Otherwise, it's war, I'm afraid.

To seafury: The people of Taiwan will defind our own country, just like in WWII, Chinese had learned how to defend your country. You don't have to worry for us! If you do care a lot of the civil rights of your own people, work on the democratization of China!

To theagent3: (cont.) By the way, you have to know that the majority of protesters who partook in this 517 Anti-Ma Rally in Taipei were NOT members of the DPP. They came to Taipei and marched to express their free wills. "Bring back martial law and have all them Green guys shot?" You are nothing but a mortal! Dare you spread your hate words in public in US and see if you can survive there!
