the family seems to be not so problematic to Derrida?

'The determination of the one' is pretty ridiculous.

I very much love his thought about the one, as, incidentally, I myself am studying Lacan and Badiou, who likewise spend much time reflecting on the one and the phantasy of the one.

I am very much enjoying these glimpses into Derrida and his conversational style, which is, nonetheless, still quite philosophical.

Maybe if they made the effort to realize it they wouldn't think it were such a phantasy. Derrida's reading here makes the mistake of thinking that the One can be conceived of as Other than two, three etc. when it's really a non-dual One.

What is a "non-dual One"?

Are you familiar with Lacan? The only ontology of the One is theology, or an onto-theology. Here there is only two pre-theoretical choices, the One or the Multiple. Deconstruction is obviously a work of the multiple.

Also, I find it a little silly to say anything of a lack of effort when talking about Lacan or Badiou.

I think Zoot misread what the slight irony Derrida intended when talking about "the One", but I don't know.
Do you know of any refutations of Zootsoot2006's critique?

That reading from Archive Fever starting just after 9 minutes is one of the most confusing things I have ever heard, philosophy or not.
