The segment between the Route 128 staion and the RI Border, as well as between Providence Station and the Connecticut Border are 150mph sections. At other times, the trains run a t a lower speed.

I know. This is the fastest train in the country. Though it's not as fast compared to the high speed trains in Europe and Asia. Here, there are no dedicated high speed lines. The Acela express shares the same tracks as the commuter rail and northeast regional trains. This is one of the only segments on the NEC where the trains actually reach 150mph. The other segment is from Providence station to westerly ri. This segment here is from route 128 to the Rhode Island border.
