  • I don't like your tactics when introducing... why6 do you think he's moving? You don't just let him move around and do nothing about it. To anyone who has experienced serious amounts of moving or is currently, re-introduce your anemone BUT THE TRICK IS... This time, within 15 MINUTES of the introduction to the desired destination in the tank you want your anemone, FEED IT! Feed it so it doesn't have that 'hunters' instinct and has any reason to move. For me, this has been a significant tactic.

  • @lafishguy cool, thanks. I'm just starting a nano tank, the local fish shop just give me a few live rocks and a big piece of this "red rock" and tell me is some sort of dead coral.

  • hey S, its not an algae, its a bacteria called Cyanobacteria. its quite likely the result of the food, mysis? you can try cutting back on food, improving protein skimming and water changes to suck it out but these are slow to get results. there are 'pills' that will clear it within days but the skimmer needs to be turned off... and it will have some small longer term affrects.

  • hey jim,

I have a slight algae problem. There is this algae that is green and red that completely covers my rocks and my live sand, and my snails seem overwhelmed by the amount and cant finish anything because it grows right back within a day or so...and my sand has turned from a beautiful white to a disgusting red...what would you suggest i do
