  • this song is a favorite of mine...just like the melody. great version...and why not? such marvelous musicians. great photos of madge bellamy. thanks.

  • @bill3murr I wonder who arranged this recording.

  • @Atticus70 - I don't know but I do know there is another recording of it, by the All-Star Band on Victor, on the flip side of the Roger Wolfe-Kahn Recording of "She's A Great, Great Girl". Identical arrangement but instead of a tuba they use an upright bass, which makes it sound a tad more modern. I do believe that Venuti was on that recording as well.

  • @JCJasion Yes, bill3murr and I discussed about it yesterday. Unfortunately, I don't have that record...

  • @Atticus70 - Reply 2 - I DO have playback equipment for it, a Dual 1218 3-speed turntable with a magnetic cartridge and a set of round larger diameter stylii. So I'm not planning to sell this item.

  • @JCJasion You'll need a 4.0 thou conical stylus for your Victor record. And the recording is quite easy. You'll need a CD recorder. I'm sure that you can get one for $200,00. Unfortunately, i don't know anybody with such equipment in that area.

  • @Atticus70 - Do you know anyone in the NY / NEW JERSEY metro area with good transfer technology? I DO happen to own a copy of this recording in good condition but I don't have the proper equipment (nor the money to obetain it!)

  • They did a good job recreating this arrangement in the 1970's film "The Fortune" with Stockard Channing doing the vocal. It has been posted.
