i have to agree there, even thought i haven't had so much experience with synths even I can hear a HUGE difference between a new and old moog synth, and the old ones sound more "alive"

Rick Wakeman can sleep safe in the knowledge that his day job is safe. Great moog though.

kinda' reminds me of bee farts

the minimoog is much better then the new moog synths because it doesnt have "ultra-stable" oscillators
oscillator drift isnt simple detuned oscillators, its more random as the oscillators change temperature, something you cant recreate on the new moog synths

You are a fool...
There is more diverse equipment, but for what it is NOTHING can produce the beef like the original mini- NOTHING. And I have 8 other synths, only one of which is also analog so I am definitely NOT analog biased.

Depends on what you are looking for. It certainly has a unique sound, and it fits just right in guitar based music, very organic.
But for modern electronic music it might be a bit dated.
The Minimoog V and SugarBytes Unique are the two most used software synths in my studio. I just love the simple and sweet sounding stuff.

Yes, this whole unit is very cool! It's built in a retro style. ;-)
