The full interview is different. See that Assad has support not
without reason. Different from Lybia and even if I dislike many
things he relativated - anyway.

Reread the bibles judgement and prophecy about Damascus
in Isiah 17 and download http://www.e-sword.net as a good much
language containing bible. Wanted to comment, did not work.

Pray for Syria. Pray for Syria.
For (real and more) elections and peace.

Please see, that I use this video awaiting ABC´s allowance in
a fair use mode for non profit helpful purpose asking, branding
and benefittin them. I am thankfull for this possibility and would like
to say that MEDIA need to take care about the context of made intverviews.
Very dangerous to just take a quote from a politicians. It is brutal what
Assad´s people do and good to reform. But the other side is, that the west (some !)
and especially Gulf-States as the KSA are "pressing for a civil war". Not good and ashaming too.

Word about Syrias future from Isiah 17:

"An oracle concerning Damascus. Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins. The cities of Aroer are deserted; they will be for flocks, which will lie down, and none will make them afraid. The fortress will disappear from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus; and the remnant of Syria will be like the glory of the children of Israel, declares the LORD of hosts.

And in that day the glory of Jacob will be brought low, and the fat of his flesh will grow lean. And it shall be as when the reaper gathers standing grain and his arm harvests the ears, and as when one gleans the ears of grain in the Valley of Rephaim.

Gleanings will be left in it, as when an olive tree is beaten-- two or three berries in the top of the highest bough, four or five on the branches of a fruit tree, declares the LORD God of Israel. In that day man will look to his Maker, and his eyes will look on the Holy One of Israel. He will not look to the altars, the work of his hands, and he will not look on what his own fingers have made, either the Asherim or the altars of incense. In that day their strong cities will be like the deserted places of the wooded heights and the hilltops, which they deserted because of the children of Israel, and there will be desolation.

For you have forgotten the God of your salvation and have not remembered the Rock of your refuge; therefore, though you plant pleasant plants and sow the vine-branch of a stranger, though you make them grow on the day that you plant them, and make them blossom in the morning that you sow, yet the harvest will flee away in a day of grief and incurable pain. Ah, the thunder of many peoples; they thunder like the thundering of the sea! Ah, the roar of nations; they roar like the roaring of mighty waters! "

(Isaiah 17:1-12)

Interview made by ABC, sometimes a bit forced asked questions
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2011/12/abc-news-exclusive-syrian-presi...

"Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad sat down with ABC News Anchor Barbara Walters for his first exclusive on-camera interview with an American journalist since the uprising in Syria began last March.  Walters' no-holds-barred interview with President Al-Assad in Damascus comes as he is under unprecedented international pressure to step down and stands accused by the Arab League, the United Nations (UN), and human rights groups of gross and systematic human rights violations."

  • Soon, Assad will either leave or meet the fate of Qaddafi. 10% of the population (Alawites) cannot rule the other 90% indefinetely. A government cannot stay in power that murders innnocent protesters. The end is near Assad, and also for your brutal supporters. Better find another country to live in.

  • @prubin8 What the regime does is evil - civil war is evil too and causes the bloodshed of Syrians. From my viewpoint it would have been better, not to escalate this whole thing and story. To reform, have real reforms and elections and so on. But the West, some countries, as some muslim neighbours - they directly escalate it to a civil war or help to do so, this is the other side of the medal. What Assad does is evil - but as said.

  • i am from syria

my family on my dads side if from daraa and they are sunni and want bashar al hammar gone

and on my moms side of the family we are from MASYAF and we are esmali who do not want bashar al hammar

  • @wegotnugs I have been in Daraa once. How is it today? Peacefull? Control? Civil war? If you jump on the escalation civil war train, it will cost more blood than if you would wait for change. I would suggest peaceful protest is still the weapon with a little sum of blood shed for change. But hard for me to say as I am not there.

  • Assad is very educated and smart man...

  • @Goodfellow62 Well - he needs to reform instead of sacrifcing people or taking this into account when civil war raises. Sure there is support from outside destabilzing Syria. Sure there are people "in gangs" but these gangs fight as freedom fighters - they are no "bandits" - so to get peace - well what if Assad steps back and election give the voice to Syria itselve?

  • Was this an interview or interrogation?? Who is America to question him! She should interrogate her own Zionist infested government which are directly responsible over a billion deaths worldwide, They are the world’s biggest terrorist!! Peaceful protesters, 4000 dead over 200 children killed that’s what they have been drilling into the minds of millions yet not once have they mentioned 1100 police & security forces have been killed as well... who killed them? it must be the peaceful protesters!

  • Loved it when he told the U.S not to "look for Puppets".. No wonder they want him gone, he is a free thinking leader non conforming to the New World Order plans. Sorry.. but I've made the decision to support him and encourage the Syrian people to back him before the extremists take over and turn a secular Syria into Hell.

  • @jusmine247 Not gonna happen.

  • @prubin8 the Christian Druez minority of Syria, DO NOT support THE OPPOSITION like your 90% indicates...(inaccurate)

  • Soon Assad will die just like Qaddafi. สมนำ้หน้าบ้าอำนาจ KAI

  • What about ordinary Iraqis who were killed everyday by American soldiers? I'm sure there were many children being killed, but of course for them it is justified in self defense, oh please...

  • @16.41 Also remember how the American admin. chose to ignore the UN when it suited it's purpose and went to war in Iraq. Also remember all the 'credible' evidence of Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, and Colin Powell being very insistent? Sigh. Double standards...

  • @nabil113 This is not about USA , this is not about power. I dont care who, or what , JUST SAVE THE PEOPLE OF SYRIA! Your thinking is wrong, who cares if America saves them? atleast their saved and served with some compassion and empathy.

  • @ARCSTREAMS I know that he's not like the other dicators , I know he cares and he's smart but the has lost control of the Syria, he doesnt know how to fix it!! The problem is, he has so much power and he doesnt do ANYTHING?! he sits on his ass and does nothing, he tries to convince us that he's with the people blabla! And idk maybe the people of syria has started this ? but they are still his men! he gives them directions and tells them what to do. and yeah, his men killed my relatives.
