I made a couple appearances on Newton's Apple in the mid-80s; this segment was devoted to curious cures for the common cold. I had to stand on my head while talking. I think my shirt was untucked from it all, because I don't have a gut. But you know what they say about the camera: ten pounds heavier.

Had more hair, though. And the requisite Artistic Horn-Rimmed Glasses.

  • Yeah, sadly I was that guy with the tube socks around his neck. The interns get all the fun gigs. Ah, show biz.

  • i think that was an old treatment for a cold or sore throat, i remember mrs. C. on "happy days" wrapping howards heck with a sock, when he got sick.

  • I used to watch the show a lot. I shudder to think that is what adults would consider "fashion" so short a time ago. Did that one guy wrap some tube socks around his neck or wtf?

  • You know, I think I actually remember the bit with you standing on your head, though not the vitamin C part. I would have been a young teen, I think.
