We had a writing project, of which we could choose the title, and had to either write an essay or produce a visual piece that argued that title. My title was "Stylised drawing in animation can be limiting to personal creativity".
This silent piece, which is little more than a sequence of images that morph into eachother and gradually get faster and BECOME eachother, is not so much animation; moreso sequential images that use a simple morph effect in After Effects in an attempt to prompt the above essay title. Which I did not write, in the end, despite many ideas.
One of my tutors was quite enthusiastic about this piece. Well, that's encouraging. I tried to put sound to it, but it didn't work as well.
Let me know what you think of the drawing, as this was the focus here. Also about the horrific visual mess at the end. Cheers!
Thanks, and indeed, I did draw all of these pictures- they are the same picture, drawn in around 20 different styles- except for the first, which is my own. Although you could call it "quasi-realism" or something like that- I do not intentionally follow any style in my drawings at all; thus my argument was about styles of drawing being limiting.

Thanks. But personally, I quite like the chaos. It's visually un-aesthetic, almost. Not my best piece I know though, it has to be said; though it was just my visual vehicle for discussion at uni, as it were.
Also, modern jazz. What sort? Can you show me an example? I'm only really familiar with "classic" jazz, and swing.

The horrific visual mess at the end is the best part. Everything leading up to it seems to be just teaser. :) Did you draw all those pics?

I think the images themselves are nice, but when you mix them together in the end, the result is a dissonant mess. Just like modern jazz.
