  • @WestBfella #3 I can imagine the sadness he must have felt at the end of his life in realizing that

the techniques which he tried to transmit for so long had been lost.” T. Nango.

  • @WestBfella #2 “Master Funakoshi left us the Shotokan style of karate but the curious thing is that

no one in this style has taken correctly the transmission of his technique, truly no one.

By the end of Master Funakoshi’s life his students had already changed his

techniques. His karate has therefore been changed as if his own imprint had

disappeared. All that remains is the name Shotokan and the names he gave the old

    kata. See #3

  • @WestBfella If you are speaking of Asai, he couldn't inject Okinawan karate with a 50 gallon syringe. He was JKA trained and Shotokan entrenched. I personally liked him yet he was an eccentric and his syllabus of techniques is as eccentric as he was. JKA elite (yes he founded the JKS) are not interested in real karate, they are only interested in perpetuating the kicking and punching sport started by Nakayama, six year student of Funakoshi, sandan in 1949, hachidan in 1961. see #2

  • @IEKUKATAKA thank you for taking to the time to reply. You are right. And I will do some research. I will also add something to the debate if I might - the person who invented this kata was trying to inject some Okinawan karate back into canon after considerable time spent in the arts. The comment function in this software you have found but the upload software is located at the top. Would love to see you use that? But that's up to you.

  • @WestBfella There is a comment function in this soft ware for a reason. Why don't you enlighten yourself, just as I did? Do some research on karate and learn what it really is. I will be exactly what you want me to be, your calling me names means about as much as the crap in this video does. My comments are for discerning and objective people to use as they see fit for their own awareness of karate. You apparently don't fit that model.

  • @IEKUKATAKA why do you not have any videos so that you enlighten us? Or are you another Armchair sensei who says controversial things to upset the karate masses?

  • Karate is a martial art, not a sport. The JKA, JKS, AAKF, ISKF, SKI etc all pretend to be karate but do so under the certain knowledge that three events in Japanese history since Meiji forbid the teaching of true martial arts. Nakayama had to promise he would not do so with the JKA in order to even exist. In terms of karate, these people can not hold a candle to original karate simply because they have gone away from it. Study Okinawan karate, it is from the origin of karate. A JKA Life Member.
