Certain Ladies

This time around its John and Mari as it leans more towards Mari somehow still being compared to Shayera in John's eyes. Sure they were together before the Thanagarian Occupation, but given Shayera's part in it and how abruptly they parted ways after John eventually moved on with Mari or at least it looks that way. Of course John still holds a torch for Shayera in whatever way possible, but what does that do for Mari who is trying to separate herself from being compared to Shayera. At the same time, John inevitably is going to have to choose between her and Shayera as far as romance goes. The two women eventually get sent on a mission together with Vigilante to add a downed vessel only to discover its the Thanagarians specifically from what's left of the late Commander Hro Talak's command who after Shayera.

Mari and Vigilante still harbor some amount of resentment for Thanagarians even for Shayera yet they will put this aside to deal with the problem at hand. The two are a little too cozy when they get back, which kind of throws John through a loop. Ultimately even a bout of time travel to meet a son he might have with Shayera and the so-called memories from the Absorbacron don't exactly make it easier for him. However, its not fair to either woman for him to profess feelings for both though not quite commit to either in terms of a relationship.

I know, and I'm glad the writers felt that way too. I just wish some fanfic writers would do that too.

The writers didn't want to make her into that so if and when there's an explanation for Rex Stewart than we can put that to rest.  Something unexpected will lead to him. It could be that or it could be something else.

Its just nice to see that someone has FINALLY given Vixen the proper respect she deserves.

Most of the time, she's treated like a "temp" just till John gets back together with Hawkgirl.

A lot of people always bring up Warhawk when talking about GL/Hawkgirl stuff, but who's to say he wasn't a "one night stand" baby?
