Because ignorant kids who listen to mainstream rap that talks about being "gangster" or "going to the clubs" idealize these people who put up nothing but a facade. It's a shame to see kids from the middle class ACT like they're from poverty when their parents worked so hard to EARN every dollar they have now so that their kids will have an easier life.

There is a difference between Hiphop as a CULTURE and "Hiphop" branded mainstream music.

im not tryin to start an argument or anything but Soulja Boy never set out to 'take-over' hip hop or appeal to the ONE audience (Hip Hop fans) he set out to get his music well known and thats what he has done .. people saying 'he killed hip hop' or 'he sucked the life outta hip hop' or just 'he aint hip hop' .. all of these are STUPID comments, he never WANTED to be hip hop -.-

Justin Bieber (not beaver) - has as much fan base (if not more) as SB. - I don't understand how you defend SB, then diss someone else who's doing just as well. I don't listen to either one and probably will never be a fan of their music, but both get mad respect from me. And question..........doe JB even rap? I thought he was a pop artist.

I understand that good rappers from the south are rare, but no one ruined rap or killed hip-hop. But yes, Luda is good - beats, rhyme, style, versatility, etc. - and one of the best punchline/metaphoric rappers around. And they've been gone a while, but lets not forget OutKast. And CeeLo doesn't rap any more, but Goodie Mob was ok. Also, Mystical just got out of jail and he was the best from the south before he went in. And if you're old school - Don't forget Geto Boys. .

rap is about lyrics and style. the flow is part. but swag jackin that show how much skill you have in rap(none) soulja got better he cleaned up he put in work i aint on his dick but nigga got fan base foreal. anyone who hate on him is prolly gonna swag jack him (ngb boys). im 13 i listen from nas to tupac and from tupac up to waka. waka is the real problem so destory him and love it. justin beaver can eat wood since he a beaver.
