DIO IS THE VOICE OF METAL
-
lol, here is Dio, in his mid 60's out singing anyone of today. that has to tell you something.
-
ronald james deavono was one of the founder's of the music we know as rock, yet there is no tribute to him why?
-
all best metal rock voices can probably hide behind DIO..and we talk about ozzy there..lol..dio is probaly the best rock metal voice ever and forever
the fact is that Black Sabbath got a more mystical and powerful hard-rocker touch with Ronie's lyrics, voice and presence, and they became a more mature band, i think Ozzie got bette when he decided to get solo too.
But no one can say that Ronnie James Dio did not improve all aspects in the music of Black Sabbath, how can you compare paranoid with a masterpiece like Heaven and Hell or Die Young?!?!

@AdrianPeterPetrucci - I don't think they're comparable really, or meant to be so much. The (especially early) Ozzy era of Sabbath was more of a true 70's British metal sound with some psychedelic overtones more akin to early Zeppelin w/o the blues influences, yet pretty unique (no one sings like Ozzy, just like no one sings like Dio). Obviously Ozzy wrote many more songs than Dio did with Sabbath also. Aside from preferences, I love them both for what they are and what they meant to music.
