The story is that Rose is in the past still, due to 2.0. She is in love with Fredrick, whose sister is Rosalie who is sort of courting Edmund, whom Rose likes as well.

Rose and Fredrick are kissing one night unaware that 2.0 has returned, feeling guilty, and saw them. Doctor 2.0 ends up killing Fredrick and she turns to Edmund.

They star gaze and Rose remembers her and the Doctor the night of Christmas when the Sycorax attacked.

Edmund gives Rose a neckless and she finds it to be Alien in descendent and she runs. When Edmund catches her he tells her his secret, but they aren't alone.

Fun fact: I noticed from memory that in Mansfield Park and Girl in the Fireplace(when he watches Reniette) the out side shots are remarkably simiular in pottery styles :D
